MASHUP ALERT!

TV on the Radio & Rihanna - New Cannonball Blues / Only Girl (In The World)
From the Albums - Nine Types of Light & Loud

*Note: I’m currently obsessed with the TV on the Radio song, New Cannonball Blues, from their new album Nine Types of Light. I can’t just play it once; I always hit repeat. That being said, I intended this post to be this song only, but I came across a brilliant mashup. I’m really picky about mashups, in fact I’ve never posted one, but this one is worthy. Whomever pieced it together has a great ear. Rihanna’s vocals mesh perfectly with this song. Albeit, Only Girl (In The World) is not my favorite Rihanna song, but I’m giving credit where credit is due. It’s a slick little mashup package, and I’m all about it today.

*Dedicating this post to Gerard Smith, bassist for TV on the Radio. He passed away on April 20th of lung cancer. May he rest in peace.

*Note: When my world doesn’t feel right, I listen to David Bowie. It’s been this way since I was 16. The very first time I heard Sound And Vision, I felt enlightened, relieved, comforted, and inevitably changed. I identify with this song and it has shaped who I am. It feels synonymous with the ebb and flow of my vital senses. While I have numerous favorite Bowie songs and albums, this song and this album, Low, will always hold a special place in my heart.
